The 5th Military Zone Museum belongs to the type of Revolutionary Military History Museum inaugurated and put into use on 7/01/1982 with an exhibition area of 8,819 m2. In 1995 the Zone 5 Museum was classified as a second-class National Museum.

1. The outdoor display area of heavy artifacts is 5,451 m2:

Including large mass weapons such as aircraft, tanks, armored vehicles, cannons from 75mm to 175mm …, weapons of the defeated French and American armies captured and reused by the troops and people of Zone 5 to fight the enemy in the wars of national liberation and defense of the Fatherland.

2. The interior display area of 3,368 m2 includes 12 rooms:

Displays thousands of photos, documents and artifacts about the birth, fighting and victory of the armed forces of Zone 5 over the past 70 years. In particular, there are many rare complexes, images and artifacts on display showing the creativity, uniqueness and effectiveness of the local people’s war power in Zone 5 in the two resistance wars against French colonialism and American imperialists such as:

Artifact complex

  • Artifacts forming the Triple Silk guerrilla group. One of the predecessor organizations of LLVTQK 5 was founded on March 10, 3.
  • Show the spirit of the troops and people of Zone 5 together with the people of the whole country. Launched an uprising to seize power during the August 8, 1945 Revolution.
  • Artifacts of Xi To battle village led by hero Dinh Núp. During the resistance war against French colonialism.
  • The self-sufficiency movement of the militia of Zone 5 in the resistance against France.
  • Victory over the Central Highlands and the Hue – Da Nang front in the resistance war against the US in 1975.
  • The victory over Playme and the victory over Van Tuong in the resistance war against the Americans.
  • The American Extermination Belt Complex of the People of Zone 5 in the anti-American resistance.
  • Reflecting the slaughter of the U.S.-Wei, and the militias’ hatred for their slaughter.

3. Artifact collections of the Museum:

  • Con the seal of the Saigon Wei regime from 1954 to 1975;
  • Central Central Newspaper Collection;
  • Collection of homemade weapons of the militia of Zone 5 during the resistance war against French colonialism
  • Resistance memorabilia of cadres and soldiers of Zone 5, during the 2 resistance wars against French colonialism and American imperialists.
  • The relics of Vietnamese martyrs and volunteers who died in the line of duty in Laos and Cambodia.
  • Photo collection of President Ho Chi Minh
