Located at the mouth of the estuary facing the sea south of Danang Bay. Helping to move from Hai Van Pass to Son Tra Peninsula becomes more convenient.
Thuan Phuoc Bridge was started construction on January 16, 2003. The investment capital of nearly VND 1,000 billion is invested by Danang City from the budget.
Construction Consultancy Joint Stock Company 533 is associated with the Chinese Institute of Road Design No. 2.
Engineering Construction Company No. 623 under Civil Engineering Construction Corporation No. 6 is the main contractor for constructing the main bridge of the hammock. The partnerships of Danang Transportation Construction Company and Thang Long Mechanical Company of Thang Long Construction Corporation are contractors for constructing bridges, both on Thuan Phuoc and Son Tra sides.
Technical traffic bridge on March 25, 2009 and inaugurated on July 19, 2009.
Difficulties in construction process
During the construction of the bridge at the site of the Han river mouth flowing into Da Nang Bay, the estuary geology is complex, making it difficult for the construction of foundations and abutments, piers, especially the foundations of two pillars. The bridge has a large architectural height, is at the seaport so the influence of wind also makes the construction progress slow.
The construction of D250 (cm) large bored piles of 2 bridge towers, it was difficult to attach to the original bed at the river bed, but with the efforts of engineers and workers, along with the Necessary adjustments on drilling technology have been completed.
Selecting high-strength concrete mix for the bridge girder at the time was also a challenge for the project’s material engineers.
Construction of reinforced concrete spans with continuous technology of formwork pushing on the fixed scaffolding of the bridge leading to Thuan Phuoc faces many difficulties, because the section of the bridge has a horizontal curve, a radius of 250m.
Construction of 2 main mooring anchors of the main bridge also encountered many difficulties due to the very large size of the abutment.
The construction of the main cable system of the main bridge of the hammock was first conducted in Vietnam, so there were many surprises.
Intended to be inaugurated on April 30, 2005 to celebrate the anniversary of the liberation of the South, but the progress is slow due to difficulties in constructing the main span of the hammock, so the bridge is inaugurated on July 19, 2005. 2009.
